DIN EN 60529 protection classes

The protection class, expressed as a two-digit IP code, guarantees the operational safety of an electrical appliance.

The first digit describes the extent of a protection against ingress of solid objects, the second indicator provides information on the degrees of moisture protection. Higher protection classes always include lower classes.

If a protection class is not claimed, an "X" is used instead.
